On Tuesday, June 5, Kate Spade was found dead in her Manhattan apartment. According to CNN News, Kate was found by her housekeeper. She had hung herself in her city apartment. A suicide note was left for her thirteen year old daughter and husband. When I first heard about the news, I was at work. I briefly checked my phone, only to find a text from my sister. "Kate Spade committed suicide {insert big eyes- shocked face emoji}." I was so sad to hear about her death. She was only 55 years old and was so successful for everything she had accomplished in her life.
I had only started my Kate Spade collection a year ago. I had received my first ever Kate Spade piece as a graduation gift for graduating high school. My mother's boss had given it to me. I was overwhelmed because of how much money it cost. My sister had also gotten me a Micheal Kors, so I was an excited eighteen year old girl. The Kennedy family had gifted me a Kate Spade black crossbody. I believe it was the Kate Spade New York Watson Lane Hester. I was in love because it was the perfect size for traveling and shopping.
I enjoy browsing through Macy's or TJ Maxx {because let's face it, that's the only place where I can go, living in a small town} looking to add my collection. I enjoy going to the outlet malls and seeing all the fun decorations at Kate Spade. In past years, I have purchased a Kate Spade phone case and I love scrolling through Pinterest searching for a bright and colorful phone/desktop background.
Kate Spade was an amazing business woman, with books on Style, Entertaining and Manners. She inspires many upcoming lifestyle bloggers today: focusing on fun, beauty, and fashion in this world. But beneath her bright, beautiful, creative spirit, laid a secret sadness. Kate Spade will certainly be missed, not only by me, but other women who carried her handbags into adulthood.

In the meantime, I'm will be praying for Spade's family. I hope that her soul has found peace. I hope Kate's throwing confetti around heaven right now and making colourful pieces for all the other angels.
Be kind to yourself and let someone know if you might need help.
